Competitors smasher: Xiaomi 13 Phones officially launched with Leica lens and SD 8 Gen 2 processor

In a new event in China for Xiaomi, a series of phones were launched Xiaomi 13 In addition to the developed user interface MIUI 14, the Xiaomi spokesperson spoke for the first time about the company's distinguished performance in the leading smartphone market. The company started to get its place high with Xiaomi 10 in the year 2020. During these three years, the company faced many obstacles but in the end it got a good seat in the leading phone market.

At the launch event today, December 11, the company presented two new phones, namely Xiaomi 13 Pro (Upscale Edition) and Xiaomi 13 (Standard Edition). The devices pack significant upgrades and arrive as the successor to the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro, which were the phones launched last year.

Besides smartphones, the company also unveiled Redmi Buds 4, Watch S1 Pro, and MIUI 14 at the event. Read on to find out what the new Xiaomi duo has to offer.

The two phones come with an AMOLED screen, a built-in fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole in the middle. Both smartphones offer a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,900 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG support.

The regular version has a 6.36-inch flat screen with FHD + resolution while the Pro model offers a 6.73-inch QHD + screen with curved edges.

Xiaomi 13 has a boxy form factor while the Pro model has a slim design. Both devices have a square camera module on the back panel and both devices get an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Both phones feature nano-skin technology that is said to make the back panel easier to clean. In terms of sound, the smartphones are equipped with stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos.

As for the cameras, the two phones have Leica-branded triple rear cameras. On the regular model, the camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor that supports OIS, a 12MP wide-angle lens, and a 10MP Telephoto unit.

On the other hand, the Pro model gets a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 prime lens paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP Telephoto lens.

Both phones feature a single 16MP selfie camera. The duo also comes packed with Leica's legendary camera-making technology to enhance imaging capabilities for the best imaging experience ever.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are powered by Qualcomm's flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Both devices pack up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The two phones also feature a cooling and heat dissipation system to keep the phone’s temperature low during intensive use, especially in games, which provides you with more gaming times while maintaining the phone’s temperature.

As for the battery, both devices are powered by a 4,500mAh battery for the regular model and 4,820mAh for the Pro version with support for 67W and 120W wired charging, respectively.

The two phones also have a Surge G1 charging protection chip with support for 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 13 series runs on MIUI 14-based Android 13. Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro come in white, Black, green, and light blue.

The regular version was announced in five (limited) custom colors including Flame Red, Sapphire Blue, Hurricane Yellow, Green, and Cement Grey. It should be noted that the limited edition is only for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variants.
