PS5 Pro launch date and its most important features

Sony announced the PS5 in November of 2020. It's been quite a few years since we've seen the device in action. But this also means that we are close to seeing the release of the PS5 Pro, and this is in the event that the company sticks to the same regular schedule.

Exactly three years after the launch of the PS4, Sony announced the release of the PS4 Pro, and that was in 2016. This is just a reference date that confirms that we are a few months away from seeing the PlayStation 5 Pro.

You might want to peek at a report Everything you need to know about the PlayStation 6 - PS6 Although it is still a bit early.

But unlike the PS4, the launch of the PS5 did not go smoothly due to supply chain issues, semiconductor chip shortages, economic deficits and many other issues affecting the industry. This makes us wonder if Sony is really intent on releasing the PS5 Pro or if they have some other plans.

Does Sony announce the PS5 Pro?

PS5 Pro announcement date

Unfortunately, the PS5 Pro has not been officially confirmed yet. But the rumor mill has not subsided over the past few weeks. Some sources claim that we're already close to seeing a PS5 Pro, while others claim that the potential device is just the PS5 Slim. Some other reports have gone completely further and claimed that there will be neither of them in the end, and that the company will wait until the PS6 launch date.

But we have some proof that Sony has plans to announce a new device soon, and these proofs come directly from the Senior Vice President of System Experience within Sony, Mr. Hideaki Nishino, whose response came during his recent press interview in the form of: “The company Sony believes that PS5 sales will reach 37 million units sold by the end of fiscal year 2022 and that this is a very important time for our home gaming platform.”

And he added during his interview: “I do not have the right to enter into any additional details, but I look forward to what could happen next year.” Perhaps Hideaki's dialogue is sure evidence that the company is determined to release a new device this year. But if it's not the PS5 Pro, it could be the PS5 Slim or even PSVR 2.

But since we haven't got any official confirmation regarding the PS5 Pro. We must treat all leaks and rumors with a little caution.

What's interesting is the latest leak we got from a Polish site that managed to share some offers that it claims are offers for the PS5 Pro, which will be released sometime in 2023.

At the same time, we have been able to spot a report on the French website Phonandroid which claims that Sony intends to launch the PS5 Pro as early as 2023.

However, we cannot believe either of them, nor can we be certain of the validity of any leaks or rumors that we have obtained in the past weeks as long as we do not get official confirmation from the company.

PS5 Pro release date

Sony is expected to launch the PS5 Pro in 2023 or early next year. There is no official word from Sony about the date of the PlayStation 5 Pro's launch in the market, but most of the leaks indicate that the launch date of the PlayStation 5 Pro is approaching, and after that it will be gradually available in the market.

The PS4 Pro was announced nearly three years after the launch of the original PS4, in November 2016.

Some rumors indicate that the PS5 Pro may come during the year 2023, specifically in the month of June. But if the launch is delayed due to supply chain problems, it may not be later than the first quarter of 2023 at the latest.

Expected technical specifications for the PS5 Pro

PS5 Pro specifications

Speculations about the PS5 Pro's specs are all over the place although it hasn't been officially confirmed yet. There are also some additional features that have been predicted.

One thing we are sure of is that the design of the device will be impressive, just like we saw the original version. It is likely that the device will include a removable and removable disc drive, although we are not sure if this feature will be the share of the PS5 Slim or if we are talking about the features of the PS5 Pro here.

Unfortunately, ambiguity surrounds the specifications and features of the PS5 Pro largely due to the lack of official confirmation by the company. In addition, there are some sources that reserve the information they have in order to present them at the appropriate time in order to attract the attention of the largest number of followers.

Some sources are specific about the details of the processing chipset model that will be used in the device, which is expected to be the next generation of AMD's RDNA architecture to give gamers the ability to run games with higher display resolutions.

It is also expected that the professional version of the PS5 will give the ability to play games at 8K resolution better, especially since there is an increasing list of games that are able to support this resolution. Right now, the PS5 is already capable of playing 8K games, but with Ultra HD upscaling.

Another feature that we have heard about in some sources is the advantage of liquid cooling methods which will be an amazing feature to get rid of the annoying high noise of the fans.

Last but not least, it is expected that Sony will decide to increase the size of the storage capacity, especially since the current 825 GB capacity was not very well received by the user, and even caused the discontent of many enthusiastic gamers. At the same time, the next volume is expected to be faster in response times and better in terms of energy efficiency.

Conclusion

Since all we got are just leaks and rumours, it is best to handle this kind of news with a little caution. But Sony sure has some surprises in store for the next one. We're just not sure if this surprise is a Pro version of the PS5 or a Slim version.

In any case, time will tell us everything, and we may be able to find more and more accurate details in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for all that is new.
