Pre-orders are now available for CONTRA: OPERATION GALUGA

Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) and WayForward today announced that Contra: Operation Galuga, the highly anticipated revival of the genre-defining run-'n'-gun video game series, will launch on digital platforms on March 12 on Nintendo Switch™ PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series

To prepare players for the action that awaits them, a playable demo of Contra: Operation Galuga is also now available for download in digital stores. The demo includes a sample of content from the first and third stages of the game and is playable for 1-4 players, and upon completion of the demo, additional content will be unlocked in the full final game.

Digital pre-orders are available today on Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series The physical edition will launch on April 26 in the Middle East, with Limited Run Games announcing physical pre-orders for other regions on March 1.

A complete re-imagining from the ground up of the revolutionary NES/arcade game from the 1980s, Contra: Operation Galuga lets players choose from a group of special forces, including main characters Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, as they blast their way through eight stages of mayhem. Against an alien horde controlled by the terrorist group Red Falcon. Armed with iconic weapons like the Spread Shot, Crush Bombs, and Laser Beam, as well as character-specific abilities including double jump, slide, and grapple, as well as the new power to equip weapons for more offensive and defensive options, players can expect endless action and excitement as they tackle the game's modes. Various options such as Story, Arcade, and Challenge.

This adrenaline experience shines through stunning music, artwork and narration from an all-star cast of collaborators. Blending the energy of summer blockbusters with classic inspiration, the theme music was created by composers Yuko Komiyama and Scarlet Moon's Norihiko Hibino, which includes reimaginings of familiar Contra melodies as well as original compositions.

During all this writing, the game's story and plot were crafted in collaboration with Dai Sato and Naruki Nagakawa of Storyriders Inc., and the main art for the game was provided by well-known storyboard artist David Nakayama. Other collaborative partners, including the game's exciting voice cast, will be announced at a later date.
