Konami has released a new trailer for Super Bomberman R 2 detailing its release date, pre-order details and new battle modes we can expect. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox, and PC.
The Bomberman series was first released in the year 1983 and has become a beloved staple for gamers all over the world as it has seen many versions since its launch in 1983 till now (2023).
With all that said, it's not surprising to see Konami continue the amazing Super Bomberman R game with a new version, which makes it a great sequel that is worth trying for Bomberman fans, especially with the presence of new game modes.

SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 Release Date for Digital and Physical Editions
Those looking for a physical release won't have to wait long as the physical releases debut the next day after the game's scheduled launch of September 13th for the digital version and September 14th for the physical version.
Fortunately, no one will be left out of experiencing SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2, as it is set to be released on all major platforms, which means we will be able to play it on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and of course it will also be available on personal computer.
And for more fun, the opportunity to have fun with any of your friends will not be missed. You can play with your friends on any other platform, as Super Bomberman R 2 supports cross-play across all platforms.
Can I pre-order Super Bomberman R 2?
Super Bomberman R 2 is available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store.
The game is also available on Steam but you can only wishlist it on but we'll be sure to let you know when that changes.
Super Bomberman R comes with 'Standard', 'Grand Prix' and 'Battle 64' battle modes. Even more exciting is the new mode, “Castle”, which sees 16 players split into attack and castle sides, pitting them in battle to fight for treasure chests or defend them in a unique battle that is both comedy and action.
Here's a quick look at all the game modes in Super Bomberman R 2:-
- Battle Mode: It includes four different modes (Castle, Standard, Grand Prix, and Battle 64)
- Grade Match: Battle online with players from all over the world
- Room Match: Enables you to freely set battle modes and rules
- Offline Battle: You can play alone or with family and friends
- Stage Editor: Enables you to create and play different stages and you can also share them using Stage Editor
- Story Mode: This is the story mode for fans of the story modes within the games.

The trailer showed several game modes as mentioned above, including the castle mode. In Castle Mode, a team of 15 players will compete against one defending player protecting the treasure chest, and the attacking side aiming to win the treasure chest!
The team must fight their way to the treasure chests without being blown up by the defender. As the only player, you must set up and block your defenses.
